About Euphorbia Miniature:

From spring through late fall, water the crown of thorns plant when the soil is dry at a depth of about an inch, which is about the length of your finger to the first knuckle. Water the plant by flooding the pot with water. After all of the excess water has drained through, empty the saucer under the pot so that the roots aren’t left sitting in water. In winter, allow the soil to dry to a depth of 2 or 3 inches (5-7.5 cm.) before watering.

Feed the plant with a liquid houseplant fertilizer. Water the plant with the fertilizer every two weeks in spring, summer and fall. In winter, dilute the fertilizer to half strength and use it monthly. Repot the plant every two years in late winter or early spring. Crown of thorns needs a potting soil that drains quickly.

About Baby Sunrose:

Baby Sunrose (Aptenia cordifolia) is a member of the Ice Plant. Also known as the Heartleaf Iceplant, this fast growing ground hugging plant has attractive heart shaped leaves and dainty reddish pink flowers. This plant is perfect for weed suppression as it also grows on top of itself and forms a thick mat as it grows, not letting in any light which stops weeds from being able to grow.

The only regular trimming necessary may also be to cut back shoots from walks or drives. If it’s flowing over a wall or the side of a pot, trim it back now and then to remove any stringy stems and encourage new growth.

In spring – late March or early April: Cut back the plants to remove any winter damage and they’ll flush out again during warm weather.

Water on a regular basis. But there should enough time for the soil to dry out between irrigations. Also make sure the area is very well drained.

Fertilize twice a year. In spring and also late summer with a controlled release fertilizer.

Baby sunrose is perfection as a plant to cascade down a wall, also in a hanging basket or in a large container surrounding a taller center plant.
