How to Use of Fodder Tray (Pack of 5)

Hydroponic fodder is a method where grains like Maize, Wheat, barley, or oats are sprouted in trays using water and humidity instead of soil. Farmers commonly use it for dairy cows, goats, sheep, and buffalo because it grows fast and uses less land and water.

Typical Hydroponic Fodder Cycle:

1. Seed soaking

Clean seeds first. Soak for about: Maize: 12–24 hours, Wheat: 8–12 hours. (Some growers add mild disinfectant or vinegar to reduce fungus).

2. Sprouting phase

After soaking, drain and keep seeds covered for 2 days until tiny sprouts appear.

3. Tray growing

Spread seeds evenly in trays. No soil is used. Water is sprayed or circulated several times daily. Good airflow is also important to avoid mold.

4. Growth period

Usually 6–8 days. Fodder reaches about 6–10 inches height with roots forming a mat.

5. Feeding

Entire mat is fed: roots, sprouts, and also green shoots.

General seed-to-fodder yield: 1 kg seed → about 5–8 kg fresh fodder (depends on grain and also on conditions).
